Tui-na

Tui-na-an-mo is Chinese manual therapy used for preventing and treating disease.  It is used to regulate the Channels, promote health joints and sinews, and improve circulation of Qi and Blood. It is most commonly used to treat acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and to strengthen the immune system.

This is a great alternative therapy  if your pet prefers massage as it promotes healing similar to dry needle acupuncture for a variety of disease processes and conditions.

Dr. Nolin can also provide an at home treatment plan for owners interested in performing some of the Tui-na techniques on their pet daily between acupuncture sessions. This is great way to add to the effectiveness of your pet’s acupuncture treatments.

  • Excellent for anxiety and fear-based conditions

  • Helps treat muscle tension, spasms, strains, and trigger point pain

  • Great for at-home treatment of many conditions treated with acupuncture between acupuncture sessions

  • Can be used in conjunction with, and to enhance, acupuncture and herbal treatments

Similar to our acupuncture recommendations,  the frequency of Tui-na depends on the severity of the problem.

Most conditions are initially treated every 1-2 weeks until the problem is resolved.

For chronic conditions, maintenance treatments likely will be needed monthly along with an at-home program for the owner to do daily or a few times a week

Dr. Nolin will work with you and your pet's condition to come up with an individualized therapy plan.

Videos demonstrations of each recommended technique will be provided or can be demonstrated on your pet at their visit.

Most Tui-na home therapy plans will range from 5-15 minutes of treatment at home daily.
