Canine Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation therapy is similar to physical therapy in humans. The goal is to help your pet get back to full function and comfort whether it be they are recovering from an injury or surgical procedure. Animals with chronic pain such as arthritis and weakness as with aging and disc disease can also benefit from rehabilitation therapy. Rehabilitation therapy should be used whenever a pet’s mobility is affected.
Senior pets can also benefit from a tailored strength-building program.
Five Elements Four Paws now offers Laser therapy, Therapeutic Exercise & Manual Therapy and PEMF (Pulse Electromagnetic Field Therapy) as an add on treatment to Acupuncture or Tui-na sessions.
Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is the application of infrared light at specific wavelengths to stimulate damaged cells to heal faster than they would on their own. Laser therapy also has the added benefit of increasing circulation to the damaged tissue, which helps to bring in nutrients and flush out the toxic by-products of inflammation.
Therapeutic Exercise & Manual Therapy
Dr. Nolin will create a specialized plan of land exercises and massage tailored to your pet's condition and examination. This plan once instated will help restore your pet's function and mobility after an injury (musculoskeletal or neurologic) or surgical procedure.
Pulse Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF)
Pulse electromagnetic field therapy targets tissue to help reduce pain and inflammation and accelerate healing. Dogs and cats can find relief from common conditions such as hip dysplasia, arthritis, muscle, tendon or ligament injuries, fractures, neurological conditions and stiffness & soreness associated with age.
This therapy can be added on to any Acupuncture or Tui-na session.
